WalkAmerica goal exceeded

Prudential Georgia Realty's Peachtree City office recently took part in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica.

The six-mile walk for WalkAmerica was held April 26 and nearly the entire Prudential Georgia Realty Peachtree City office participated. March of Dimes set a goal for the office of 16 walkers and $1,655 in donations.

Debbie Pitts, a Realtor with Prudential Georgia Realty, again served as the office's coordinator and team captain. She has volunteered for the March of Dimes cause for more than 12 years. Debbie challenged everyone in her office to commit to donating $50 each and her fellow associates rose to the occasion. The Peachtree City office nearly doubled the March of Dimes goal set for them, with $3,125 in donations and 30 people participated in the walk.

WalkAmerica is held across the nation and Peachtree City was one of the metro Atlanta locations for the fund-raising walk. The walk is held in hundreds of communities in all 50 states and is the single largest fund-raising event for March of Dimes. Funds raised for the March of Dimes cause will be used to prevent birth defects and infant mortality through research programs, community services, and education.

Raising funds for WalkAmerica was one small way Realtors with Prudential Georgia Realty could help a good cause and carry through on the company's We Care theme. Managing broker Kathy Murphy said it's just like her Realtors to get behind an area cause and give 110 percent.
