Wednesday, June 11, 2003 Gilbert named Home Source training director Alan Gilbert, former managing broker at several Atlanta realty companies including Buckhead Brokers, Northside Realty, and Jenny Pruitt & Associates, is now The Home Source Realtors' training director. "Advanced education is a high priority for The Home Source Realtors full-time real estate professionals," said Janeece Swainey, the company's executive vice president and broker. "There are constant changes in the real estate industry, and the advanced training we provide assures our home buying and home selling customers that we offer the most up-to-date knowledge and skills during their real estate transactions." Gilbert conducts weekly classes for The Home Source Realtors Builder Services Group and Peachtree City and Newnan General Brokerage offices. Topics include contracts, marketing techniques, computer expertise, tax and mortgage information, and communication skills. Gilbert's distinguished career spans more than 30 years in Atlanta area residential real estate. He has earned several high sales volume awards, and is a Life Member of the Million Dollar Club and a Board Member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors. Gilbert is a Registered Mediator with the State of Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and is the Southeastern Representative for the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council. A Realtor since 1971, Gilbert holds the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager and Seniors' Real Estate Specialist Course, Instructor designations. A graduate of the University of Illinois and a Korean War veteran, he and his wife reside in Newnan. His special interest is the Southeastern Greyhound Club Rescue Program for retired racing greyhounds.
