Thrasher joins 21st Century Coweta John Thrasher recently joined 21st Century Coweta as interim executive director. 21st Century Coweta contracted with Thrasher to provide executive leadership and direction on economic development and services. In his new role, Thrasher will work in partnership with the local economic development community including the Chamber of Commerce, Development Authority, local elected officials and others, to assess the status of current economic development efforts. In the assessment of economic development status in Coweta County, Thrasher will determine existing business needs and expansion opportunities, review and update promotional materials, and evaluate site development. Furthermore, he will work on prospect development by cultivating relationships with statewide developers and project consultants. Prior to 21st Century Coweta, Thrasher worked with Georgia Power for 24 years. Most recently, Thrasher was part of the utilities regional community and economic team. In this position, he worked closely with Chambers of Commerce, Development Authorities, elected officials and community leaders to assist local efforts to prepare for and attract quality economic growth. Thrasher is a graduate of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and is active in the community including serving as a board member for the University of Georgia Alumni Association, a Charter member of Leadership Coweta, and Founding Chairman of Global Achievers. "I am glad to be working to bring quality economic growth to the town that my family and I have called home since 1990," said Thrasher.
