PTC Rotary Club honored with district awards

The Rotary Club of Peachtree City received 10 awards at the annual district convention in Jekyll Island recently.

The club won awards for Best Community Service, Best Vocational Service, Best Web Site, Best Conference Theme and Best Conference Attendance. The club also won for having the best House of Friendship display and having the best yearbook.

The club was also recognized for raising the most money for the district's Alzheimer research fund, and the club was given the Presidential Citation for fulfilling a lengthy list of Rotary International designated objectives during the year.

Club President Dale Phenicie praised the Peachtree City Rotarians for the successful year, which culminated with local Rotarian Bill MacDonald being named the new district governor.

MacDonald and his wife, Alice, will preside over the district's 70 clubs and will visit each club during the next year.
