The results of severe storms in Coweta County earlier this month are still being felt by area commuters.

Coweta County Public Information Officer Tom Corker said two roads still remain closed in the county.

East Gordon Road remains closed until further notice, and McIntosh Trail near East Coweta High School is closed at Wellington Station subdivision. Corker said a detour route is provided near the subdivision.

Residents who are still cleaning up from the storm have until June 14 to bring their storm debris to the C and D landfill on Essie Mae Road.

"As long as the debris is tree limbs and branches from the storm, the landfill will accept them free of charge," Corker said.

The severe storms whipped through the county two weeks ago and left a path of downed power lines, fallen trees and washed out roads.

Most of the severe damage was located in the eastern part of the county near the White Oak and SummerGrove subdivisions.
