Sheriff's Department partners with school system to teach defensive driving

The Fayette County Community School program has announced a new partnership with the Fayette County Sheriffs Department.

As partners, the deputies from the traffic division will be teaching the Defensive Driving class for the community school. The deputies are certified through the National Safety Council.

The class is designed for ages 15 to adults. It is a 6-hour course and focuses on adjusting to road and weather conditions, recognizing and reacting to potential driving hazards and reinforces seatbelt and safety laws.

For class dates and times, call the community school office, 770-460-3990, ext. 470.
