Quiet little road needs high-flying new name
It's not the most scenic drive in Peachtree City, but talk about your multi-modal access. Stallings Road, a narrow gravel lane that shoots off of Dividend Drive at the south end of Falcon Field Airport parallel to the CSX rail line, will soon be improved by the Peachtree City Airport Authority, and it needs a new name to reflect its rising stature, they say. "The current name doesn't reflect the changed nature of its future use," said Cathy Nelmes, chairman of the authority. "We would like the name to represent the commercial aviation use of the adjacent property." This renamed section of Stallings Road will serve the Industrial Park as well as a newly acquired parcel of land to be used in developing commercial and privately owned aviation related enterprises. As is, the road is the primary access point for several businesses new to the Falcon Field area. Suggested names should be sent via the Internet, along with your name and contact information, to: AVSULT@aol.com, or by postcard via U.S. mail to PCAA, 7 Falcon Drive, Peachtree City, Ga., 30269. The deadline for submitting entries is June 1. J. Frank Lynch
