New speed limit in effect on West Campbellton

Last month, Fairburn City Councilmen approved of a speed limit reduction on West Campbellton Street after hearing concerns and complaints from some residents.

The speed limit has been reduced from 45 m.p.h. to 35 m.p.h. due to safety precautions says Chief of Police Frederick Brown.

He explained that after the assessment of traffic on West Campbellton Road, he feels that 45 m.p.h is too fast for the number of residents that reside in the area and the anticipated expansion on other residential areas that would connect to West Campbellton.

Chief Brown wants residents to be aware of the new speed limit signs and adjust their speed accordingly.
