PTC Rotarian tabbed for international service award

Peachtree City Rotary Club member Frances Meaders has been awarded an international citation for her service to the club and the community.

Meaders was recently presented with the "Four Avenues of Service" award, which is given to Rotary Club members who have distinguished themselves by providing outstanding service in all four categories of service: club service, community service, vocational service and international service.

Meaders was the Peachtree City Rotary Club's first female member, joining in 1986, In 1984 she was elected the club's first woman president.

Meaders was one of the primary architects of the club's Fayette County Telephone Directory project, which has raised funds to support various service projects. She was recently named secretary for Rotary District 6900, the administrative branch that governs 70 Rotary Clubs in western Georgia.

Current Rotary president Dale Phenicie said Meaders is an "outstanding member of our club.

"We value her and thank her for her dedication and efforts."
