Wednesday, May 14, 2003 Judge speaks to builders Builder members of the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia heard an inspiring talk from Judge Paschal (Pappy) English from the "Survivor" television show at the organization's March meeting. The large group attending the gathering were told by Judge English that "you learn a lot about yourself when you're put in a situation like that." Looking back on his ordeal, which lasted for more than 40 days, the judge said that you not only "learn a lot of lessons," but you also learn what's really important in your life. "What's important are the people in your life," he explained. "We take so much for granted because we have so much," he pointed out. "I did without everything for more than 40 days, so I know I can do it. You get down to your core values." At the meeting, held at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, the association held its annual Table Top Night. The builder members were able to obtain information on the latest in building products, discover how to save money on future projects, and network with others in their industry, while associate members had the opportunity to promote their products and services.
