Heritage Bank branches accepting funds for family A memorial fund has been established to aid the family of John Ashmore in the coming weeks. The Fayette County Youth Baseball Association deposited $2,000 at Heritage Bank in Fayetteville over the weekend, said president Charles McCollum. On Tuesday, school system personnel, led by Whitewater Middle School faculty, where John was a seventh grader, joined the effort. Donations will continue to be accepted to the attention of the John Ashmore Memorial Fund at any Heritage Bank branch in the county. Donors can also drop off checks for the fund at Hood Avenue Primary, 490 Hood Ave., the school where John's mother is employed. Checks should be made payable to the John Ashmore fund.
