Landmark hosts Christian conferenceRecently Landmark Christian School hosted the four-day Christian Worldview and Successful Living Conference. The first three days were offered to Landmark students in grades 9-12 and the fourth was offered to Landmark parents and community guests. The theme for Day One was "How We Think." John Stonestreet from Bryan College and the Bryan College Worldview Team led Landmark students in an exploration of Christian thinking, the three dominant worldviews of our post-modern culture, and their influence in shaping our culture and our minds. They especially emphasized the impact of the entertainment industry. The program included multimedia presentations, drama, and other activities that challenged students and raised multiple questions. The theme of Day Two was "How We Act." The content was focused on the moral choices that Christians face. Ted Boyd of Bryan College's Worldview Summit program was one of the day's speakers. Boyd helped students process the information of Day 1. He made practical applications to the questions and challenges that students experienced during the first day of the conference. Members of a faculty panel discussed choices that they have faced in their Christian journeys. Also on Day 2, Landmark's administration held a town meeting to give the students an opportunity to ask questions about the school. This day included a bowling break/fellowship time, nurturing students socially. The theme of Day Three was "How We Impact/Interact With Others In the World." Landmark invited individuals from a variety of professions to come and speak to students in a seminar format. These individuals dialogued with the students about Christian worldview and its influence on their successful living in the marketplace. Each Christian leader offered an individual mini-seminar. Multiple seminars were offered during three different sessions, allowing students to select which Christian leaders they preferred to dialogue with. On Day Four the conference was extended to Landmark parents and guests from the community as former Bryan College President Dr. Bill Brown spoke about Christian Worldview and the value of its application to our daily lives. The Christian Worldview and Successful Living Conference had a strong impact on the students. One senior commented that the conference "acted like a compass, redirecting my path back to the will of God."
