Taste of Fayette will tie in with annual art show

Food from local restaurants will be ready for the tasting Sunday, May 18, at the Taste of Fayette event at the Gazebo at Stonewall Village, offered by Main Street Fayetteville.

The event will again coincide with the annual Old Courthouse Art Show, which is in its 35th year.

In addition to the food and tasting, nonstop entertainment is scheduled on the stage by the fountain. Kids activities such as face painting are also planned, with a special "Kids Corner" open during the art show hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Taste of Fayette's hours will be from noon to 5 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Fayetteville's downtown historical revitalization efforts.

The event was so popular last year that restaurants and organizers had a hard time keeping up with the demand from participants. Organizers are expecting a larger showing this year, and restaurants are encouraged to turn in their application to secure their spot.

Applications may be picked up at City Hall. For more information, call the city's Main Street Department at 770-461-6029.
