Child safety fair at PTC Wal-Mart Saturday

The public is invited to a children's safety fair aimed at preventing unintentional injuries to kids that will be held Saturday at the Peachtree City Wal-Mart from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

A "wheel safety area" will provide demonstrations on bike and scooter safety, including a skills course and helmet fitting station. Children are encouraged to bring their bikes, scooters and helmets to try out their skills on the course.

There will also be displays on water safety, poison prevention and the safe use of all terrain vehicles.

Parents can also have their child safety seats checked while at the fair. Trained technicians will be available to check the seat for proper use and installation; they can also check and see if a particular child safety seat has been recalled.

The Peachtree City Fire and Rescue Department will also have members conducting training demonstrations at the fair. Fire and rescue apparatus along with law enforcement equipment will also be on display.
