Suspects tried to scam agents on drug deal

Two men were arrested in north Fayette County Thursday after undercover drug agents planned to buy two pounds of marijuana from them.

The "buy-bust" turned into an attempted robbery, however, as the two suspects tried to rob an undercover agent of the $1,200 cash that was brought to purchase the marijuana, said Sgt. Belinda McCastle of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

Agents from the department's Drug Task Force arrested Cedric Pittman, 29, and Marlon Hodge, 29. The two were charged with one felony count of criminal attempt to sell marijuana. Hodge was also charged with concealing the identity of a vehicle after he removed the regular auto tag from his vehicle and replaced it with a paper "drive-out" tag, McCastle said.
