Burn ban start coming upBy JOHN
MUNFORD Fayette County's outdoor burning ban is about to begin again. During the ban, all outdoor burning of lawn debris will be prohibited. Burning of debris from land clearing for development projects will also be prohibited during the ban. The ban will be lifted again in October. The ban was instituted to help improve air quality in the metro Atlanta region, which has been designated as a "serious" nonattainment area for ground-level ozone, a major component of smog. The area's poor air quality has been blamed for a variety of health ailments and also impacts the environment, officials have said.
