Twelve teachers at Flat Rock Middle School will be competing this Friday night for the title of Fun Factor Ultimate Champion. "Fun Factor," based on the hit TV series "Fear Factor," will be a fundraiser for the school. "Unlike other fundraisers, 100 percent of the proceeds from 'Fun Factor' will go back to the school," said Leslie Putnam of the Flat Rock Middle School PTO. "Fun Factor" will feature three physical challenges and three eating challenges that the teachers will have to compete in. Though the challenges will be difficult, they will not be as graphic or intense as the challenges on "Fear Factor." The teachers competing will be technology teacher Jim "Technogeek" Utley, special education teacher Brian "Wildman" Watts, science teacher Mikie "Nature Freak" Emerson, sixth-grade science teacher Kevin "Snakeman" Ballard, eighth-grade language arts teacher Sue Ellen "Oompa-Loompa" Buchanan, health teacher Karen "Psycho" Chandler, physical education teacher Mystic "Superfly" Thompson, principal Tyrone "The Gangsta" Jones, assistant principal Nancy "Ballistic" Blair, comptroller Jane "The Rock" Gardner, sixth-grade English teacher Shelley "The Flash" McClemore and seventh-grade social studies teacher Phillip "The Playa" Bates. Felicia Brillant of the PTO will be the host of the show. "Fun Factor" will take place Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is $2 for kids and $5 for adults.
