Agents of the Fayette County Drug Task Force have seized a large quantity of both oral and injectable steroid drugs during two recent busts in the Peachtree City area.

One person was arrested Monday after selling 490 steroid pills to an undercover agent, police said. Another person was arrested Tuesday after selling 35 boxes of injectable steroids to an undercover agent, police said.

The suspects' names were being withheld Thursday morning pending completion of the investigation, said Sgt. Belinda McCastle, spokeswoman for the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, which operates the task force.

It's likely the steroids were mailed to the suspects, McCastle said. The packaging contained a foreign language and indicated the steroids were for veterinary use only, she added.

The 35 boxes of steroids, which contained vials of injectable fluid, had a total cash value of $7,000, police said.

A total of approximately $1,500 in cash was confiscated from the suspects on both "buys" officials said.

In a separate bust, three suspects were arrested in north Fayette County for selling marijuana last week, McCastle said. Agents seized three pounds of marijuana and 15 small bags of marijuana that was wrapped up for individual sale, McCastle said.
