Traffic in south Fayette was snarled Wednesday morning when an auto crash occurred on Ga. Highway 74 south near its intersection with Ga. Highway 85.

One of the victims was taken for medical attention by a medical helicopter, according to the Georgia State Patrol, which is investigating the accident.

The preliminary report from the GSP indicates that one of the vehicles was traveling north on Hwy. 74 when it left the roadway and the driver over corrected as it was steered back onto the road, a spokesperson said.

That brought the vehicle into the southbound lane and the path of a northbound vehicle, and the two vehicles collided head-on, according to the GSP.

None of the driver's names were available because the report wasn't complete Thursday morning.

The crash scene tied up the highway for a half hour or more, according to reports.
