Former commissioner arrested on sex charge

Former Fayette County Commissioner Charles Herbert Mask has been arrested for sexual battery.

According to warrants for his arrest, the incident occurred at Mask's south Fayette home Jan. 4 when he grabbed another man's private area and made a comment about it. Although the incident was investigated by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, the warrants for Mask's arrest were applied for by the victim.

It is unknown why the victim was at Mask's home at the time.

Mask, who is 72, was arrested for aggravated sodomy back in 1994 but a Fayette County grand jury declined to indict him on the charge, according to court records.
