Churches observe Holy Week

This weekend marks the Christian celebration of Easter, with churches throughout the South side observing the resurrection of Jesus Christ in song and service during Holy Week.

Several choir performances are scheduled, as well as worship services and other activities.

Easter activities for the Fayette, Coweta and South Fulton areas include:

Bethany United Methodist, 770-964-6999:

· Maundy Thursday, April 17, 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary, "Lord, Is It I?" dramatic presentation depicting Leonardo Da Vinci's painting of the Last Supper, plus musical performance and a service of Holy Communion. Nursery provided.

· Saturday, April 19, Easter egg hunt and party, 10 a.m.

Sunday, April 20, Easter sunrise service, 6:30 a.m.; breakfast, 7 a.m.; no Sunday school; worship service, 11 a.m.
