Grantville Day planning continues at April 21 meeting The Grantville Better Home Town organization will hold its monthly meeting April 21 at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers in the Grantville Municipal Building on LaGrange Street. Anyone living in or near Grantville or who owns a business in Grantville is invited to attend. The main items on the agenda will be completing the planning for Grantville Day and hiring a new director. The annual Grantville Day community festival is June 14 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. The highlight of the day occurs at 1 p.m. when Caroline Carr will conduct re-enactments of the 1932 robbery of the Bank of Grantville and the 1949 Chicken Truck Turnover. The schedule of the rest of the events for Grantville Day will be finalized and approved at the April meeting. Anyone having suggestions or wanting to volunteer to help can contact the chairman of Grantville Day, Reenie Hardy, at 770-583-3611 or normanl51@aol.com. The GBHT executive committee, composed of the four GBHT officers, has been given the responsibility of finding someone to assume the post of GBHT director, which became vacant at the end of February, when the resignation of Martine Collier took effect. A report on the progress of this search will be given at the April meeting.
