Would you like to learn more about growing roses? If so, the South Metro Rose Society, in association with the American Rose Society and Home Depot, would like to help you. They will offer their second annual seminar, "How to Grow Beautiful Roses" at the Peachtree City Home Depot this Saturday at 10 a.m.

This free seminar attracted close to 65 people last year and the South Metro Rose Society would like even more people to come out and learn about proper rose care this year. The seminar will provide useful information to both beginners and experts. Topics will include selecting the proper rose type for various landscapes, soil preparation, insect control, disease prevention and much more. Educational hand-outs will be provided as well as membership opportunities to both the South Metro Rose Society and the American Rose Society.

The seminars will be led by consulting rosarians from the South Metro Rose Society. Their help is designed to ensure that growing roses, which is our national floral emblem, is a positive experience for all.

The South Metro Rose Society meets on the fourth Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Bank in Fayetteville. Membership to the club is $15 a year and the public is invited to attend as many meetings as they like without joining. The meetings feature guest speakers, refreshments and door prizes.

For more information on the South Metro Rose Society, phone President Cindy Dale at 770-631-3885 or visit their Web site at http://webpages.charter.net/southmetrorose.
