Two men plead guilty to car theft

Two College Park men who police found with two stolen vehicles after a Fayetteville burglary in June pled guilty last week to charges stemming from the incident.

Brandon Lavail Daniel admitted to burglarizing a home on Chandler Way in Fayetteville and that he had in his possession a 1992 Jeep Cherokee that was taken from a residence on Brookwood Lane. The second vehicle was a van that had been stolen from a Tucker woman, according to court records.

Daniel pled guilty to burglary, theft by receiving stolen property and theft by taking (motor vehicle).

Rodney McDowell pled guilty to theft by receiving stolen property for the charge relating to the stolen van.

Judge Christopher C. Edwards sentenced Daniel to five years in prison. He also sentenced McDowell to five years probation and a $1,500 fine.
