The museum at the birthplace of novelist, Erskine Caldwell, is celebrating the anniversary of his birth with a SouthernStorytelling Celebration April 5.

This event features Margaret Anne Barnes and Dot Moore and is at Moreland Elementary School. The school is a short distance from Caldwell's Birthplace and Museum. Also featured will be Newnan's John Hickman, who has written a Southern novel which has not yet been published.

The program runs from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Caldwell is the author of more than 50 books including "Tobacco Road" and "God's Little Acre."

He was born in the house on Dec. 17, 1903. It was moved to its current location on the Moreland town square from its original rural site several years ago.

Admission to the April 5 event is free.
