Allie M. Hufstetler McMichen


Allie M. Hufstetler McMichen, 90, died March 15, 2003. She was born Dec. 6, 1912 in Bartow County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert McMichen, and a son, Leslie McMichen. Services were at the First Baptist Church of Tyrone with the Rev. Farren Roper and the Rev. Keith Stell officiating. Interment was at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone. Survivors include sons, James and Katie McMichen, Powder Springs, and Charles and Gail McMichen, Thomaston; daughters, Betty Sue and Young Shubert, Tyrone, and Linda and Bill Howard, East Point; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.

Ida Elaine Ramey


Ida Elaine Ramey, 77, Fayetteville, died March 15, 2003. She was born April 8, 1925 in Baltimore City, Md. Graveside services were at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include her husband, Edward Harold Ramey, Fayetteville; a daughter, Bonnie and Albert Mullikin, Peachtree City; and grandchildren, Lisa Parcell, Wichita, Kan., and Chad Mullikin, Athens. Joseph Gene Bearden


Joseph Gene Bearden, 43, Kathleen, Ga., died March 16, 2003. He was born August 30, 1959 in Fulton County. He was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Page Bearden. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell & Son chapel with the Rev. Daniel Overdorf officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Jean Armes Bearden, Kathleen; sons, Joe Bearden, Robert Bearden, and Tavara Ragin, all of Kathleen; a grandson, Joseph Bearden; mother, Betty Bearden, Fayetteville; and siblings, Vicki Bearden, Robert Bearden, Christie Wells, David Bearden, and Robin Kolman. Robert F. Puckett


Robert F. “Bob” Puckett, retired minister and CEO of Christian City, died March 16, 2003. He was born Oct. 1, 1924 in Gwinnett County, Ga. Services were at Southwest Christian Church with Minister Wye Huxford, Minister Billy Rowe, Minister Carl Ryden, and Minister Wendell Baggett officiating. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Doreen F. Puckett; children, Patti English, and Phyllis Puckett, both of Fayetteville, Lynn and Robbi Puckett Scarbrough, College Park, Victoria Puckett, Jacksonville, Fla., William “Bill” Tyler Puckett, Cumming, and the Rev. Virgil and Dorri Puckett Clotfelter, Columbus, Ind.; a brother, the Rev. B. Neal Puckett, Union City; grandchildren, Terrell and Jacque Puckett, Nicole and Patrick Kelly, Amanda and the Rev. Steve Smith, Benjamin Glosson, Ty and Amy Puckett, Patrice and the Rev. Kevin Williams, Suzanne Puckett, Andrew Puckett, McClain Clotfelter, and Alex Clotfelter; and great-grandchildren, Meghan Puckett, Garrett Puckett, Kieya Kelly, Justin Puckett, Jake Puckett, Austin Williams, Zachary Williams, and Grace Williams. Roger Dale Hill


Roger Dale Hill, 56, Fayetteville, died March 18, 2003. He was born Jan. 30, 1947 in Sweetwater, Monroe County, Tenn. Services were at Harps Crossing Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Watson and the Rev. Robert Keatts officiating. Interment was at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Sherrill Greene Hill, Fayetteville; a son, Matthew and Ashley Hill, Conley; a daughter, Shelley and the Rev. Robert Keatts, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Haley and Lauren Keatts, and Olivia Gray and Ari Hill; mother, Georgia Hill, Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.; a brother, Donald Hill, Chattanooga, Tenn.; and sisters, Faye McGinnis, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Brenda Downey, Ooltewah, Tenn. Emily R. Reasey


Emily R. Reasey, 63, Peachtree City, died March 17, 2003. She was born May 17, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pa. A funeral mass was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Father Dave McGuinness officiating. Interment was at Mountain View Cemetery, Reno, Nevada. Survivors include a son, Mark and Tina Reasey, Stockbridge; a daughter, Janet and Mark Nylund, Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, David Hart, Sparks, Nev., and Daniel Hart, Illinois; and a sister, Delores Johnson, LaGuna Hills, Calif. James Franklin Edmondson


James Franklin Edmondson, 80, Lake Asbury, Greencove Springs, Fla., died March 18, 2003. He was born June 27, 1922 in Fulton County, the second son of George and Nell Edmondson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel E. Carnes. He was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Jacksonville Branch, after 39 years of service. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Lendell Ainsworth and the Rev. W. W. “Bill” Cook officiating. Interment was at Holly Hills Memorial Park, Fairburn. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Louise Swanson Edmondson, Greencove Springs, Fla.; a son, James and Shirley Edmondson Jr., Douglasville, Ga.; a daughter, Paula and Jimmy Jordan, Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, Leslie Edmondson and Jerry and Betty Joe Edmondson, all of Fairburn; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Lawrence Helms


Lawrence Helms, 77, Peachtree City, died March 18, 2002. He was born Dec. 27, 1925 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Services were at the Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Weber and the Rev. Miriam Beecher officiating. Survivors include daughters, Janet and Bob Stratton, Peachtree City, and Shirley and Frank Elliott, Chardon, Ohio; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard Helms and Ralph Helms, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and a sister, Arlene Janmey, Cleveland, Ohio. Louise B. Nichelson


Louise B. Nichelson, 80, Fayetteville, died March 19, 2003. She was born June 27, 1922 in Floyd County, Ga. She was a member of the Hicksville Baptist Church. Services were at the Harris Funeral Home, Rockmart, Ga. with the Rev. Tony Lankford and the Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Interment was at the Aragon Cemetery, Rockmart, Ga. Survivors include a son, Larry Nichelson, Centre, Ala.; daughters, Marie and J. C. Couey, Rome, Sybil and Malcolm Smith, Fayetteville; Edna Wadsworth, Miss., Lillie Holland, Kan., and Bobbie Wolfe, Hampton; grandsons, Mark and Jen Smith, Fayetteville, Scotty Nichelson, Jonesboro, and Ricky and Tina Nichelson, Elijay; granddaughters, Shelia Wood, Hampton, Cindy and Garey Gosdin, Sharpsburg, Lynn and Derek Scarborough, Fayetteville; and Darlene Couey, Rome; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Esther May Holloway


Esther May Holloway, 92, Fayetteville, died March 22, 2003. She was born Dec. 10, 1910 in Fulton County. Services were at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charlie Govenstein, and the Rev. Scott Harp officiating. Interment was at Crest Lawn Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include her husband, Willard C. Holloway, Fayetteville; a son, Ronnie and Ivy Lockett, Fayetteville; a grandson, Scott and Phyllis Lockett, Fayetteville; and great-grandchildren; Ryan Lockett and Ashleigh Anna Lockett, both of Fayetteville.
