Wedding And Anniversary Announcements

Grutt anniversary

Richard and Rosemary Grutt of Peachtree City, natives of Ohio, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently. They were married in Liberty, Ind. March 3, 1953. They are parents of three children: Larry (Marilyn) Grutt of Kansas City, Mo.; Julie (Michael) Audo of Romeo, Mich.; Teresa Grutt Davis (deceased); and seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Cheryl and Joseph Grutt; Amanda and Toni Audo; and Brittany and Leo Davis of St. Louis, Mo.

Bolson-McCarthy

Anna Leigh Bolson and Shawn Matthew McCarthy were married Sept. 1, 2002, at Mills House Hotel Fountain Courtyard in Charleston, S.C. The Rev. Gerald McSwain performed the ceremony which was followed by a reception. A Postnuptial reception was held Nov. 29 at the Erie Maennerchor.
The bride is the daughter of Jane Stoakes of Fayetteville and Carl Bolson of Atlanta, and the stepdaughter of James Stoakes. She is a server at Wild Wings Restaurant in Charleston.
The groom is the son of Robert and Kathy McCarthy of Erie, Pa. and is a graduate of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He is a regional manager for Keebler Corp. in Charleston.
Patrick McCarthy of Charleston was best man. Heather Prado of Atlanta was maid of honor.
The couple resides in Charleston following a honeymoon in Cancun.

Lopez-Richardson

Amy and Rod Slate of Fayetteville and John Lopez of Baton Rouge, La. announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Elizabeth Lopez, to Joshua Brian Richardson, son of Daniel and Barbara Richardson of Union, Miss.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Amy and Jairus Barham of Decatur, Miss., Trine and Jim Gilbert of Natchez, Miss., and George and Barbara Humphreys of Holly Springs, Miss. She is a graduate of Union High School where she participated in the state Mock Trial Meet, served as editor of the student newspaper and was active in leadership organizations. She is majoring in pre-medicine at East Central Community College, where she is a member of the Sigma Sigma Mu Tau pre-medicine organization.
The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Era Johnson of Union, Miss. and the late Jess Johnson, the late Clyde Dooley and the late Cecil and Doris Richardson. He is a licensed welder, employed as a heating and air service technician with The Service Company in Meridian, Miss.
The wedding will be June 14 at Decatur United Methodist Church in Decatur, Miss.

Tardy-Handley

Julie Michelle Tardy and Daniel Lee Handley were married July 13, 2002, at First Baptist Church of Tyrone. The Rev. Farron Roper conducted the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Jones of Fayetteville and the late Gary Tardy. The groom is the son of retired Col. and Mrs. William M. Handley Jr. of Peachtree City.
The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather, Gene Jones. Deborah Dudley of Atlanta served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenna Heil of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jacqueline Doyle of East Point. Brittani Crawford, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Michael Handley of Atlanta, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Greg Hull of Orlando, Fla., and Jon Harrison of Yelm, Wash. Ushers were Adam Jones of Fayetteville, brother of the bride, Greg Roman of Atlanta and Nathan sweet of Atlanta. Ring bearer was Andrew Harrison of Yelm, Wash.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Wendell Coffee Golf Center in Tyrone. After a Western Caribbean cruise, the couple lives in Peachtree City.

Williams-Gregory

Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Brown and Charles Williams announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Amy Melissa Williams, to Shawn Joshua Gregory, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Gregory of Fayetteville.
The bride-to-be is a 1993 graduate of McIntosh High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in communication with concentration in business from Valdosta State University in 1998. She currently is a human resource director in Duluth.
The groom-elect is a 1992 graduate of Fayette County High School. He spent four years in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He currently is a superintendent for MEJA Construction in Fayetteville.
The wedding will be March 29, 2003.
After a honeymoon in the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Fayetteville.

Keller-McCormick

Dr. John and Beverly Keller of Fayetteville announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Alicyn Claire, to Brian Philip McCormick, son of Jack and Janet McCormick, also of Fayetteville.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Virginia and Houston Hughes of Carmi, Ill., and Virginia and Eugene Keller III of Tuscaloosa, Ala. She is a 1997 graduate of Landmark Christian School and a 2001 graduate of Auburn University. She currently is teaching second grade at East Fayette Elementary School.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Gloria Castellaw of Fayetteville and Bobbie Sue McCormick of Saltillo, Miss. He is a 1997 graduate of Fayette County High School and a 2001 graduate of Auburn University. He currently is an I.T. consultant at Accenture and plans to attend law school in the fall.
The wedding will be April 5, 2003, at Salem Baptist Church in McDonough. Following the ceremony, a dinner reception will be held at Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge.
After a honeymoon on the island of Anguilla, British West Indies, the couple will reside in Peachtree City.

Newton-Kennemore

Mr. and Mrs. John K. Newton of McDonough announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Whitney Brianne, to Ruben Adam, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben E. Kennemore Jr. of Fayetteville.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard J. Gore of McDonough, and Marlene Newton and the late Preston Newton of Brooks. She was graduated from Henry County High School in 1998 and is now employed by Delta Air Lines.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Mumford of Fayetteville, and Mr. and Mrs. Ruben E. Kennemore Sr of Suwannee, Fla. He was graduated from Fayette County High School in 1998 and is now employed by Delta Air Lines.
The wedding will be April 12, 2003, at Bethany Baptist Church in McDonough.
Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple will reside in Fayetteville.
