A convenience store clerk and customer were robbed at gunpoint Monday evening at Coleman's convenience store on Ga. Highway 92 North just before 9 p.m. according to reports from the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

Two suspects got away with an undetermined amount of cash but neither the clerk nor customer were injured during the incident, said Sgt. Belinda McCastle of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

One of the suspects demanded that the witness hand over his wallet and the witness complied, McCastle said.

The suspects were described as black males wearing long black coats, McCastle said. One wore a blue bandana around his face and the other obscured his face with a white material, McCastle added.

Detectives believe the suspects may have used a .38 caliber handgun, McCastle said. The investigation into the incident will continue, McCastle said Tuesday afternoon.
