Nativity Episcopal to hold prayer vigil Sunday

Fayetteville's Episcopal Church of the Nativity invites the community to join in a worldwide candlelight vigil Sunday, March 16, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the church on Antioch Road.

As the months of debate and discussions about the government's policy and actions toward Iraq are reaching their 11th hour, the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, the Most Reverend Frank T. Griswold, has called for local parishes to gather together in prayer.

The candlelight service will be an ecumenical Taize format with prayers, scripture and music throughout the hour. There will no sermon or preaching.

"My hope is that we can offer a sacred and safe place to meet in prayer specifically to bring our anxiety and concerns to the Lord during these difficult days," said Bob Hudak, Nativity's pastor.

The Episcopal Church of the Nativity is one of 92 parishes in the Diocese of Atlanta and a member of the world-wide Anglican Communion. The church is at 130 Antioch Road in Fayetteville. Check the website at www.fayettenativity.com for more information, or call the parish office at 770-460-6390.
