Student dies after falling ill in class A Fayetteville resident died suddenly Tuesday after becoming ill in his physical education class at Woodward Academy. Tyler Dodson, 13, told his coach he was sick and was taken to the middle school infirmary at the College Park campus early Tuesday afternoon, according to Woodward public relations director Tisa McMackin. The school's registered nurse, who is trained in critical care, had begun monitoring his vital signs and conducting other routine procedures when the student went into some kind of seizure, McMackin added. The nurse began emergency procedures and continued until paramedics arrived and transported him to South Fulton Medical Center, where he died later that afternoon, McMackin said. Funeral services are scheduled for today, with a private service for the family as well as a memorial for friends at 4 p.m. at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Monroe Roark
