Record response to CCSU open house causes venue change As the old saying goes... "due to overwhelming demand," the Clayton State Office of Recruitment's Spring Laker Day Open House has had to move into the two largest facilities on campus Spivey Hall and the Athletics & Fitness Center. The Open House is still set for Saturday, March 15, from 9:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. However, with at least 100 students and more than 150 parents coming to visit, Director of Recruitment Diane Burns has had to relocate the two main sessions. The 10 a.m. opening session, which includes an introductory program, panel discussions and breakout sessions for students and parents, will now be in Spivey Hall (moving from the Harry S. Downs Center), the University's world-famous recital hall. The popular Browse Fair, which allows prospective students and their families to individually learn more about student services, academic programs, and extracurricular activities at Clayton State, has been moved from the Student Center to the Athletics & Fitness Center. Laker Day is a twice-a-year event that welcomes high school students and their parents to Clayton State and features separate panel discussions for students and parents, a campus tour, and a browse fair spotlighting the University's programs and organizations. Reservations for Laker Day can still be made by visiting the University's Web site at www.clayton.edu or by calling the Office of Recruitment at 770-961-3500.
