Russian choral group Archiglas concert in Peachtree City Archiglas, a four-person a capella choral ensemble from St. Petersburg, Russia, will present a program of Russian religious and folk music at Christ Our Shepherd in Peachtree City, Friday evening at 7:30. The group made many tours in Europe under the name "Neva-Russicum," but reorganized after its first North American tour in 1998. Now they are able to perform at host sites twice a year, usually in churches. Two men and two women now form Archiglas, the name of which means "Outstanding voice." The group is being hosted by church members while in Peachtree City. The director is Dimity Vorobjev, who studies orchestra conducting at the Conservatory for Music in St. Petersburg. All members sing professionally, as individuals, in St. Petersburg from opera to Orthodox worship and are often invited to make repeat performances on return tours. For more information, see their website, at archiglas.com. One link provides clips of music from an album, and another offers biographical and career information. The program at Christ Our Shepherd is open to the public, and is free, although contributions for Archiglas' travel costs are welcome. The church is located at 101 Peachtree Pkwy. North.
