The Peachtree City Rotary Club recently donated $1,000 to the All Children's Playground to help pay for a swingset that will be a major part of the facility's third and final phase.

The playground, located at Picnic Park behind City Hall, was designed to be used by children of all abilities. Ramps are used to access the second level which makes it easier for those using wheelchairs or walkers.

Sponsors are still needed for the last phase which will include swingsets and also a toddler play area. Four levels of corporate sponsorship are available: Platinum for donations of $10,000 or more, Gold for donations of $5,000 or more, Silver for donations of $1,000 or more and Bronze for donations of $500 or more.

Donors for each category will be commemorated with an engraved plate along with similar donors that is on permanent display at the facility.

Colleen Sugar, chairperson of the fund-raising drive, said anyone wishing to donate funds can contact the Peachtree City Recreation Department at 770-631-2542.

The committee is also looking for a few volunteers to help out since some of the original committee members have moved away and had career changes that forced them to cut back their assistance to the program.

"We need people who want to put the finishing touches on this piece of cake," Sugar said.
