Ashley Glen marks five years

Ashley Glen Assisted Living and Alzheimer's Care will celebrate its fifth birthday April 17. And like any five-year-old, it's growing.

"We're experiencing growing pains and, at the same time, we wanted a facelift," said Elaine Gaillard, marketing director of Ashley Glen. "So, we're enduring some temporary noise inconvenience to reconfigure space on both floors of our building."

Once the renovations are done, Ashley Glen will have five new residence suites and a beautifully updated look throughout the building, including entryways, flooring, lighting and furnishings.

Ashley Glen residents have been supportive despite the noise and dust. In a spirit of tolerance and cooperation, they have decorated and donned yellow hardhats.

"The hats are considered quite fashionable around here and we've had a lot of fun with them," said Gaillard.

Ashley Glen Assisted Living and Alzheimer's Care has enjoyed strong growth and active involvement in the community, leading the way in formation of the Alzheimer's Southern Crescent Memory Walk and beginning a volunteer Family Support Group.

"We are pleased to serve as a resource to families on the Southside," said Gaillard.
