As a part of the observance of Confederate Memorial Day April 26, the General Lafayette McLaws Camp #79, Sons of Confederate Veterans is pleased to announce that it will once again feature the Children's Parade of Southern state flags.

Any child between the ages of 5 to 17 that is a descendant of a Confederate soldier, sailor, or marine, that served honorably during the War Between The States may apply to carry the flag of the state from which the particular ancestor served.

All that apply may participate. If a particular state has more than one entry, a name will be drawn and the winner will have the honor of carrying the flag. All others will be listed in the program and will escort the flag. All the former Confederate states, plus Oklahoma and Maryland, will be represented in the parade.

For information e-mail skgbama@aol.com or call 770-716-5344.
