SAR recognizes local bankBy CAROLYN
CARY
The Town Center branch of Heritage Bank was recognized for its display and care of the American flag by the Marquis de Lafayette Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. The SAR is an organization composed of male descendants of the Revolutionary War patriots. Its purposes are patriotic, historical and educational. One of the ways in which it promotes patriotism is through the honoring of organizations, businesses or individuals that properly care for and display the United States flag. The SAR has about 25,000 members nationwide. The Lafayette Chapter, located in Fayetteville, is the newest chapter in Georgia and received its charter last August. The local chapter meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Bank Branch on North Jeff Davis Drive.
