Moselle Butler Friedrich
Moselle Butler Friedrich, 80, Fayetteville, died Feb. 8, 2003. She was born Sept. 2, 1922 in Grady County, Ga. She was retired from Equifax. She was remembered for her many volunteer activities which include the Atlanta Olympics, the U.S.O., the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and the Tully Smith House and was a member of the Chamblee Star Quilt Guild. She was an avid gardener. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Stegall officiating. Interment was at Barnetts Creek Cemetery, Ochlocknee, Ga. Survivors include a sister, Connie Forte; a nephew; and four nieces. Memorial donations may be made to the Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291. Daniel Woodrow Hughes
Daniel Woodrow Hughes, 90, Fayetteville, died Feb. 14, 2003. He was born June 5, 1912 in Henrietta, N. C. He was a member of the Forest Park Assembly of God and the Forest Park Masonic Lodge. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel, with Pastor Russ Taylor officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lorraine Hughes, Fayetteville; daughters, Danelle and Harold Freeman, Fayetteville, and Cindy and Roger Stratton, Newnan; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Kenneth Hughes, Henrietta, N. C.; and sisters, Mary McCurry, Ellenboro, N. C., and Eileen Browning, Spartanburg, S. C. Memorial donations may be made to the Embracing Hospice, 2160 Fountain Drive, Snellville, GA 30078. Carl J. L.M. McElwaney
L. M. McElwaney, 66, Marietta, died Feb. 14, 2001. He was born Oct. 4, 1936 in Fayette County, son of the late Orville James and Willie Lou Davis McElwaney. Services were at the Woodstock Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rodney Carson officiating. Interment was at Hopewell Church Cemetery, Tyrone. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jean McElwaney, Marietta; daughters, Robin Elaine Buccini, Powder Springs, and Kelly Jean Dupree, Marietta; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ronald Adams Fairrel
Ronald Adams Fairrel, 60, Fayetteville, died Feb. 15, 2003. He was born Nov. 8, 1942 in Fulton County. He retired from Delta air Lines in 1995, and then worked for Delta Technology. He was a member of the Hapeville Lions Club and was a volunteer firefighter with Fayette County for 21 years. Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Cook officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Brown Fairrel, Fayetteville; a son, Bryan and Dana Fairrel, Sharpsburg; a daughter, Melissa Fairrel, Raleigh, N. C.; a grandson, Brayden Fairrel; mother, Melba Fairrel, Lawrenceville; a sister, Marilyn and Flynn Morris, Lilburn; and nieces, Karyn and Brian Johnson, Cumming, and Amanda and Howard Marsh, Atlanta. Willie B. Tucker
Willie B. “Billy” Tucker, 67, Griffin, died Feb. 15, 2003. He was born Dec. 24, 1935 in Fayette County. He was preceded in death by William Stubbs and Hester Mae Tucker. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Ron Whitlock officiating. Interment was at Whitewater Baptist Church Cemetery, Brooks, Ga. Grady Willis Stallings Sr.
Grady Willis Stallings Sr., 71, Riverdale, died Feb. 20, 2003. He was born March 6, 1931 in Fulton County. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Heatherwood Baptist Church and a member of the Rossville Masonic Lodge. Services were at the Tara Garden Chapel with the Rev. Tom Daugherty officiating. Interment was at College park Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Helen Stallings, Riverdale; sons, Grady and Susan Stallings Jr., and Keith and Lori Stallings, all of Fayetteville, and Ken and Betsy Stallings, McDonough; daughters, Hazel and Bob Ripley, Griffin, Harriet and Dave Wallace, Stockbridge, and Lois Stallings, Riverdale; brothers, Roy Stallings, Ellenwood, and Euell Stallings, Florida; a sister, Audrey Lee, Wilmington, N. C.; and 14 grandchildren. Tara Garden Chapel, Jonesboro, was in charge.
James O. White
James O. White, 78, Morrow, died Feb. 18, 2003. He was born Sept. 22, 1924 in Fayette County, son of the late James Sylvester and Annie Viola Jones White. Graveside services were at the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, Tyrone, with the Rex Masonic Lodge, #251, F&AM, officiating. Survivors include his wife, Nell White, Morrow; sons, Randy White, Savannah, Ga., and Kenny White, Covington; daughters, Malissa Ann Drew, Hampton, and Belinda Fiscus, Stockbridge; a brother, Marion White, Jackson, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Robert Lee “Bob” Alston, 70, Fayetteville, died Feb. 20, 2003. He was born Aug. 3, 1932 in Webster County, Ga. Services were at the Woolsey Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Chambers and the Rev. Clay Edge officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Elegal Slaton Wilson, 88, Fayetteville, died Feb. 20, 2003. She was born Oct. 21, 1914 in Fayette County, the daughter of Eugene and Mertie Carey Chapman Slaton. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. J. W. Wallis and the Rev. Dr. David Chancey officiating. Interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn.
