The Fairburn City Council and Mayor Betty Hannah congratulated Councilman Roy Farr Monday night for being appointed by the executive director of his state municipal league to serve on the National League of Cities' (NLC) Small Cities Council (SCC).

Councilman Farr's role as a member of the Small Cities Council is to ensure that the needs of small cities are met by the NLC.

The council advises staff on issues that are important to small cities and offers guidance on how to reach out to elected officials from small cities.

The council meets twice a year at the Congressional City Conference which is held every March in Washington, DC. and at the Congress of Cities in a different city every December. This year it will be in Nashville, Tennessee.

The business meeting, during the Congressional City Conference, is March 9th, at noon at the Washington Hilton Hotel.
