Fulton Senior Facilities Host Black History Salutes in February Senior citizens can celebrate Black History Month in a variety of ways at Fulton County's four senior multipurpose facilities during February. These modern, drop-in service sites offer therapeutic nutritional, educational, fitness and social programs that provide a focal point of daily activity for seniors age 55 and older. They are operated by the Fulton County Human Services Department's Office of Aging. Here's a sampling of the Black History Month activities. Call for details: H. J. C. Bowden Senior Facility, 2885 Church Street, East Point Black History celebration, art exhibit and choral concert February 25, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (404-762-4821) Harriett G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility, 677 Fairburn Road, NW, Atlanta "Living Legends" display of participants' biographies (every day); lunchtime performances at 12:30 p.m. of The Darnell Players skit February 17, spirituals February 19, and The Darnell Chorus February 24; senior art gallery February 10-21; and a trip to a special matinee of The New Jomandi's "Do Lord Remember Me" play at the 14th Street Playhouse. Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility, 515 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue, Atlanta "Reflect, Remember & Rejoice Our History" program of personal recollections of Atlanta and the "Old Fourth Ward" through the years, featuring conversations, cherished photos and memoirs. The Mills Choir will perform. February 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Fulton County Human Services Department's Neighborhood Senior Centers will also host special events during February.
