Stallings Road paving at Falcon Field could happen this summer A project to pave Stallings Road to give access to a new hangar area at Falcon Field in Peachtree City could occur this summer, according to officials. City Engineer Troy Besseche recently approved the final design of the road after engineers representing the airport answered several minor points about the design, according to Airport Manager Jim Savage. The project has required a bit of cooperation between agencies and individuals like Saud Alam, the owner of Century Imports, which is adjacent to the property. Alam has agreed to dedicate the company's portion of the road to the airport authority. The Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority and Pathway Communities have also agreed to chip in funds towards paving the first phase of the road. Both entities would benefit from the road being paved since they own parcels that use Stallings Road exclusively for access. The project is considered a necessity since the five hangar spaces at the new site cannot be developed until the road is paved. The authority has designated the hangar site as a commercial area, charging higher lease rates to make sure they are developed for businesses. Besseche indicated to Savage that the summer date is feasible although an agreement has not been signed with the county or the DOT. The authority may also ask the city to abandon its right of way on Victor Road, which would enable the authority to have greater flexibility in developing the recent 24-acre tract it purchased, Savage said.
