Amusement complex OK'd by PTC planning commission By JOHN MUNFORD Plans for an indoor/outdoor family amusement center, complete with putt-putt and go-karts, has been approved by the Peachtree City Planning Commission. But the commission, worried about children crossing Ga. Highway 74 at Crosstown Road to get to The Depot, wants the owners of the facility to coordinate a safety plan for pedestrians with the police department on a regular basis. "It needs to have constant attention, not just a passing look," said commissioner Dennis Payton. A representative of The Depot agreed to that condition on the commission's site plan approval. The Depot will be located on the western side of Hwy. 74 in the industrial park off TDK Boulevard. The only way to get their will be to drive or walk across the highway, where currently there is no crosswalk. Golf carts are also forbidden from crossing the highway. City Planner David Rast said the Georgia Department of Transportation is supportive of installing a crosswalk at that intersection when improvements are made to the area. The site plan was approved 3-1 with commissioner Ray Green against. "I think the project has lots of merit but I don't think it's in the right place," Green said.
