Pathway unveils new Tyrone neighborhood

Tullamore to complement Tyrone and its Irish heritage

Best known for developing Peachtree City, one of America's most successful master-planned communities, and more recently SummerGrove in Newnan, Atlanta's third-best selling community, Pathway Communities hsa announced plans to develop Tullamore, the company's first foray into Tyrone.

Located at the intersection of Ga. Highway 74 and Dogwood Trail, Tullamore is a 58-acre planned neighborhood with 43 homes priced from the upper $200s to well over $350,000.

Although Tullamore is just a stone's throw away from the Peachtree City line, Pathway wanted to create a community with a feel that was uniquely Tyrone.

Pathway selected the Tullamore name because of Tyrone's rich Irish heritage. "We wanted a name that would be a complement to Tyrone and work with the traditions already in place," said Peggy Sullivan, vice president of marketing for Pathway Communities. Tullamore is the name of a city in Ireland and is also the name of a street near the Irish village of Tyrone.

While Tullamore is distinctly Tyrone, Pathway Communities is using many of the same development principles that have made Peachtree City so successful. An abundance of greenbelts and open areas adorn the community, and it also will be linked to Tyrone's path system, giving residents walking access to Tyrone.

"With the average new home price in Peachtree City exceeding $300,000 and the relatively low product availability in both Tyrone and Peachtree City in this price range, this is a rare opportunity for buyers in this area," said Sullivan. "Plus, Tullamore's proximity to I-85, award-winning schools and select builder group, will also factor into the success of the community."

Builders at Tullamore include Chadwick Homes, Gary Alford & Associates, Jordan Homes & Properties, Kenny Johnson Homes, Rossetti & Rossetti, Inc. and South-Tree Enterprises.

With just 43 homes in the community and an already strong consumer base, Sullivan thinks the community is poised for aggressive sales. "Right now we are taking homesite reservations, and early indicators point to a relatively quick buildout."
