CCSU celebrates Black History Month with guest speakers

From first African American Georgia Supreme Court Justice Robert Benham to poet Hank Stewart, Clayton State's Black Cultural Awareness Association invites you to hear five guest speakers in honor of Black History Month.

Lectures will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in February from noon to 1 p.m. on the Clayton State campus in Morrow. These events are free and open to the public.

Tomorrow, hear Justice Benham of the Georgia Supreme Court will lecture on "The Perseverance of the African American During the Last Century." Justice Benham will be speaking in room 13 of the Lecture Hall.

Motivational speaker LeCount Holmes will lecture Tuesday, Feb. 18, on "A Moment in Time with Frederick Douglass" in the Clayton State Theater inside the Arts & Sciences building, room 132.

On Thursday, Feb. 20, Margaret Reebes, an historian and a representative of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, will lecture on "A Historical View of African American Women and the Law" in the Lecture Hall, room 10.

Poet Stewart will speak Tuesday, Feb. 25, on "A Moment in History Through Poetry" on the lower level of the Clayton State Student Center.
