Fugitive squad hunting suspect in local heists By JOHN MUNFORD Now that local police have positively identified the suspect in the armed robbery of the Flash Foods convenience store in Peachtree City and the Tyrone Amoco that occurred almost a month ago, the Atlanta Metro Fugitive Squad is hunting the suspect down. Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray said fugitive squad officials were familiar with the suspect, identified as Howard Lee Duffy, 40, of Atlanta. Duffy is also a suspect in several similar incidents throughout the metro Atlanta region, Murray noted. Police have secured warrants for Duffy's arrest for the Peachtree City incident, in which he got away with money and cigarettes, the same as in the Tyrone case. Detectives got a good look at Duffy's likeness on the video cameras at the Flash Foods and Tyrone Amoco, police said. Other police agencies have issued warrants for a second suspect who assisted him in other similar incidents, police said. After the robbery occurred in Peachtree City, Police Chief James Murray pledged that the suspect would be caught. He noted that the city has not had any unsolved armed robberies.
