Senoia residents will know by the end of the month the exact cost of phase two of the city's sewer system.

City administrator Murray McAfee announced during Monday night's Senoia City Council meeting that bids will be opened Feb. 25 on the massive project to improve the city's infrastructure.

McAfee showed the City Council 160 pages of plans concerning the sewer system, which has to be signed by Mayor Dianne Cleveland and sent to Rural Development to secure funding.

Since the present city administration took office last year, they have been working feverishly to obtain all the rights of way to build the sewer system.

McAfee said the city had gone through a condemnation procedure to obtain the last rights of way, and only had one left to secure.

In other business, the City Council:

Approved a conceptual plan for the Ivy Ridge development on Rockaway Road. The development will feature nearly 120 homes on 109 acres, with 25 percent of the land sat aside for greenspace.

Heard Mayor Cleveland thank the community for rallying around the Coweta County Sports Hall of Fame. When the City Council refused to fund $500 to the hall last month, Cleveland said the local community kicked in the funds.
