Barbara Starnes Beam Eades
Barbara Starnes Beam Eades, 71, Fayetteville, died Jan. 19, 2003. She was born Jan. 12, 1932 in Chambers County, Ala., the daughter of the late H. Arthur and Lillian Yarbrough Starnes. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jason. She had lived in Fayette County for the past 30 years and had previously lived in LaGrange, Ga. She was retired from Flat Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member. Services were at the Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaGrange. Survivors include her husband, Arnold L. Eades, Fayetteville; a son, Rick Beam, Auburn, Calif.; a daughter, Gail Beam, Snellville, Ga.; a stepson, Richard and Shannon Eades, Roanoak, Texas; a stepdaughter, Cindy Harrison, Opelika, Ala.; grandchildren, Holly and Brian Sheppard, Shana and Joseph Latimer, Joel, Lanaca, and Kayci, Auburn, Calif.; step-grandchildren, Chris and Amy Davis, Korea, Brian Brooks, and Holly Harrison, Opelika, Ala., and Jessica and Ryan Eades, Roanoak, Texas; great-grandchildren, Haley, Caleb, Alayna Sheppard, and Callan and Chase Latimer; step-great-grandchildren, Jake and Andrew Davis, and Britney Brooks; and a brother, Charles and Sonda Starnes, Auburn, Calif. Raymond Larry Purl, 53, Fayetteville, died Jan. 18, 2003. He was born Sept. 6, 1949 in Fulton County. He was a 12-year veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed by the United States Postal Service. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Floyd Carmack and the Rev. Dr. Randy Colver officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Otis O. Chambers
Otis O. Chambers, 68, Mt. Dora, Fla., died Jan. 19, 2003. He was born June 3, 1933 in Atlanta, the son of Franklin and Corine Nails Chambers. He moved to Florida in the 1960's. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. E. C. Chatam Jr., officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Lee Hubinger Chambers, Mt. Dora, Fla.; sons, Rick Chambers, Fayetteville, Joel Chambers, Newnan, and Eron Chambers, Apopka, Fla.; a daughter, Debbie Southern, Peachtree City; a stepson, Greg Mosteller, Mt. Dora, Fla.; brothers, James Chambers, McDonough, and Benny Chambers, Stockbridge; sisters, Martha Jo Meise, Cancandaiqua, N. Helen Carlisle Brooks, 77, Brooks, died Jan. 19, 2003. She was born Sept. 13, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Brooks Sr. She was associated with the Freeman Church for the Deaf. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Nesbitt Odom officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include stepsons, James R. and Martha Brooks, Fayetteville, and Geoffrey Fincher, Brooks; stepdaughters, Jeanette Goodman and Linda Lozano, both of Brooks; a son, William and Mary Burgess, Mooresville, N. C.; a daughter, Betty Beagle, Dade, Fla.; a special sister, Annie Lou Fischer, Brooks; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Delano Fincher, Brooks. Carl J. Gertrude Boyte Wilson Gilbert, RN, 95, Fayetteville, died Jan. 22, 2003. She was born Jan. 8, 1908 in Rock Hill, S. C. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rowe Wilson. Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Stringham and the Rev. Frank Ellis officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include daughters, Anne and Kenneth Kinnaird, Charlotte, N. C., and Mary Boyte and Tom Huckaby, Fayetteville; a sister, Wilma Baggett, Decatur, Ga.; grandchildren, Karen and Mark Spieler, Charlotte, N. Sarah Kathryn Bemiller
Sarah Kathryn Bemiller, 87, Peachtree City, died Jan. 24, 2003. She was born Sept. 23, 1915 in Hanover, Pa., the daughter of John Yealy and Clara Harner. Private services were held at the Fort Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania National Cemetery. Survivors include sons Dr. Carl R. Bemiller, Pottsville, Pa., and Albert D. Bemiller, Orchard Park, N. Y.; a daughter, Carole Lee Cunningham, Peachtree City; sisters, Jean Kopp, Linesboro, Md., and Shirley Wolfe, Hanover, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
