Landmark scores high on SAT
Although Georgia's state SAT scores may have dipped this year, Landmark Christian School students continue to achieve high marks. Landmark's class of 2002, with an average score of 1118, is 98 points above the national average score of 1020 and 138 points above Georgia's average score. Landmark's average of 1118 bests the top rated school system in the state that of neighboring Fayette County, which scored a system wide 1048, according to published reports which also listed McIntosh High as the top-scoring individual school in Fayette with an 1103 average. Since 40 percent of Landmark students live in Fayette County, many parents are interested in how Landmark scores compare to individual schools in Fayette County. The SAT test is taken by college-bound students across the nation. State officials report that 65 percent of Georgia students took the SAT last year. In Fayette County, approximately 85 percent of their students took the SAT; and, at Landmark, 99 percent of our students took the SAT. Landmark's college guidance counselor, Joan McNeil, commented that the school's excellent academic program has been further recognized each year, as Landmark students are awarded Service Academy Appointments, National Merit Scholarships, ROTC scholarships, and other academic scholarships from many of the best colleges and universities in our nation.
