Fville still probing fire that destroyed newspaper office Fayetteville fire officials have ruled the cause of the blaze that burned down the Fayette Daily News building last month as undetermined. But the investigation is still open and new evidence can be entertained, said Sgt. Bill Rieck of the Fayetteville Fire Department. The investigation is still awaiting some additional documentation and it may remain open for quite some time, Rieck said. "It's still open meaning that any new leads could be pursued," Rieck said.
