A plan to build a Zaxby's restaurant at Lexington Circle in Peachtree City off Ga. Highway 54 East has been approved by the Peachtree City Planning Commission.

The restaurant, which features a variety of chicken entrees ranging from chicken fingers to chicken salad, will be located on a 1.28-acre parcel across the street from Bruster's Ice Cream.

The access drive for the Zaxby's will align with the one used by Bruster's. It will also have a separate entrance and exit drive, but the sites will be connected by a rough-textured walkway.

City staff have helped company officials create a plan to add significant landscaped areas adjacent to the building, according to City Planner David Rast.

The company must also provide the street trees, site furniture and specialty lighting that is a part of the design guidelines for the Lexington Circle development.

In other business, the commission tabled a concept plan for The Depot amusement park which is planned for the Lake Park industrial subdivision off TDK Boulevard near Ga. Highway 74.

The commission also approved landscape plans for an office/warehouse building at 301 Kelly Drive and for the Southern Federal Credit Union on Commerce Drive.
