Fayette GOP sets precinct mass meetings

The Fayette County Republican Party will convene precinct mass meetings Saturday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. for the purposes of electing delegates and alternate delegates to the 2003 Fayette County Republican Party Convention and organizing the various precincts in Fayette County for the next 2 years.

All Fayette County residents who are legally registered to vote and believe in the principles of the Republican Party are urged to participate in this process.

Registration is without charge and will open Feb. 8 at 9 a.m. The meetings will convene promptly at 10 a.m. downstairs in the Floy Farr Room of the Peachtree City Library, 201 Willowbend Road in Peachtree City. Parking is available at the rear of the building.

Delegates and alternate delegates elected at these meetings will represent their precincts at the Fayette County Republican Party Convention, scheduled for March 8 at 10 a.m. at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone. The purpose of the County Convention will be to organize the Fayette County Republican Party for the next 2 years, elect officers for the local Party, and elect delegates and alternate delegates to represent Fayette County at the Congressional District Conventions and the State Convention.

The 8th and 13th Congressional District Conventions will convene at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at locations yet to be determined.

The Georgia Republican Party State Convention will convene at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, in Macon.
